COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA (IRN) – Vandals caused $13,000 in damage to a golf course in Council Bluffs, and one of the them got caught after trying to return the pins. KETV reports 4 teens took four-wheelers on the course at Bent Tree Golf Club. They are charged with criminal mischief.

DES MOINES (IRN) – A Des Moines homeowner reported a burglar took thousands of dollars in appliances and items from her home while she was gone on vacation. The entire home was ransacked, and nearly everything of value in the home was taken–including the security system. The loss is estimated at more than $23,000.

CEDAR FALLS, IA (IRN) – A former manager at a Cedar Falls hotel has been arrested for allegedly stealing from the business. The Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier reports Autumn Joy Wildebour, 33, of Reinbeck has been charged with second-degree theft. Wildebour was general manager at the Super 8 Hotel, when corporate officials noticed problems with the hotel’s books. Wildebour admitted to keeping cash transactions estimated to be over $4,000.

SAC CITY, IA (IRN) – A pilot who crash-landed his crop duster in a corn field walked away without any injuries. KCAU-TV reports Randall Lloyd 50, of Alta took off from the Sac City airport on Wednesday. Shortly after takeoff, Lloyd began experiencing engine troubles. He turned his plane around to head back to the airport, but ended up having to crash-land.

INDIANOLA, IA (IRN) – A woman and a child were killed in a crash involving a motorhome and an SUV Wednesday morning south of Indianola. The Iowa State Patrol reports the motorhome pulling a trailer ran a stop sign and hit the SUV.  SUV occupants killed in the crash were Eric Fuller, 9, from the southern Iowa town of Kellerton, and Karla Handy, 72, of Indianola. Three others were injured.

CEDAR FALLS, IA (IRN) – Cedar Falls Police have arrested a Waterloo man who is accused of sending obscene photographs to a 14-year-old girl.  KWWL-TV reports Michael Verlyn Bohle, 22, of Waterloo was arrested on Friday. Bohle allegedly met the girl through a mutual friend on social media. Knowing she was 14, he still corresponded with her and sent her obscene photos. The girl’s parents contacted the Cedar Falls Police Department.

FREDERICKSBURG, IA (IRN) – A man from the northern Iowa town of Fredericksburg has been charged with kidnapping.  KIMT-TV reports law enforcement responded to an emergency call at a home in Fredericksburg, and when they arrived, they found that a domestic dispute was taking place between Landon and Mindy Riley, both 35 years old.  A short standoff happened with Landon, and he was eventually arrested.  He is being held in the Chickasaw County Jail.

LE CLAIRE, IA (IRN) – The former president of the eastern Iowa town of Le Claire’s Firefighter’s Association has been charged with second degree theft. Shawn Ream of Le Claire has been arrested after an investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Le Claire Police Department into a string of suspicious financial transactions.
