CLINTON, IA (IRN) – Two men were found dead inside a home in Clinton yesterday according to WQAD-TV. The police were called to a report of an unresponsive person and found the two dead men. Additional details have not been released.
BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IA (IRN) – Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a car accident on 1-380 around 6 a.m. today. KWWL-TV reports the car lost control and rolled through a highway fence and landed on a bike trail. Two people had to be extracted from the vehicle by firefighters. They were hospitalized, and their conditions are unknown.
DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines police are investigating the city’s eighth homicide of the year after a woman was found dead in an apartment downtown Monday night. WHO-TV reports police were called to the apartment on a report of an injured person. When officers arrived they found a 45-year-old woman dead. There were traumatic injuries to her body.
JOHNSTON, IA (IRN) – A Johnston High School teacher is in jail Monday after turning himself in. KCCI-TV reports 33-year-old Dustin James Mead faces two felony charges: third degree sex abuse and sexual exploitation by a school employee.
WATERLOO, IA (IRN) – Waterloo police officers stopped four men from committing an armed robbery at a business Saturday after they received a tip about it beforehand. KCRG-TV reports the four planned to rob the “Check into Cash” store. The men, aged 19 to 21 years of age, face up to 17 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
IOWA (IRN) – High winds, tornadic activity, and heavy rains occurred across much of Iowa Monday night as a band of storms swept across the state. The National Weather Service reports that investigators will be on scene today north of Knoxville in Marion County and in Seymour in Wayne County to investigate reports of tornadoes touching the ground, and damage to buildings. No reports of injuries were received.
