CLINTON, IA (IRN) – The Clinton Fire Department is investigating what led to a fire that spread to three detached garages Saturday. There were no injuries and no homes were damaged.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Both of Iowa’s U.S. Senators told several hundred people at the Iowa Ag Summit they are opposing President Trump’s efforts to cut federal money toward crop insurance. In May, President Trump proposed to cut crop insurance by 36% in his budget for the coming year. Senator Chuck Grassley says “No cuts to crop insurance. Period.”

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines-area school districts are scrambling to find qualified bus drivers, according to KCCI-TV. Bus drivers have faced increasing scrutiny after horrific crashes dominated national headlines, such as the one that claimed the lives of six elementary school students last year in Tennessee. Todd Liston, director of transportation for Des Moines Public Schools, said the shortage of school bus drivers is a nationwide trend.

CANTON, OH (IRN) – Cedar Rapids native and former UNI football star Kurt Warner was inducted into the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday night. Warner says, “Hollywood couldn’t have written it any better.” His journey is one of the greatest stories in NFL history, with Warner going from stocking shelves at Hy-Vee to becoming a 2-time MVP in the NFL.
