TIFFIN, IA (IRN) – A 65-year-old Coralville man is dead after his car struck a tree in Tiffin Friday. He failed to stop at a stop sign, continued through the intersection and then crashed into a tree. His 64-year-old passenger was taken to a local hospital.

WEST DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A petition with more than 2,000 signatures is circulating in support of a Dowling Catholic High School teacher forced to take down an LGBTQ Pride flag in his classroom. Dowling Catholic High School forced the teacher to take the flag down. The school said its standard policy says “political symbols” are not allowed to be displayed.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A group of parents of disabled students filed a lawsuit Friday seeking to strike down Iowa’s law banning schools from requiring masks, arguing it endangers their health and denies equal access to education.

LeCLAIRE, IA (IRN) – Officials for LeClaire in eastern Iowa say the city was scammed out of more than $220,000 by thieves posing as vendors the city has worked with. City funds were sent to three fraudulent accounts that had been disguised to resemble those of legitimate city vendors.
