DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The Des Moines Police Department have made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that took place Sunday. Tyrone Scott Cameron, 28, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder. Cameron attempted to evade officers on Friday. Police said he jumped from a residential rooftop. A police K9 was used to apprehend him. Jeffrey Dwayne Gillom, 59, of Des Moines, was killed in the shooting. A female victim was seriously injured.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A man serving a 25-year prison sentence for rigging computers to win lottery jackpots has had his parole revoked after he got into trouble in prison just before his scheduled release. Eddie Tipton was approved for release by the Iowa Board of Parole on Jan. 20 because of good behavior. He had served nearly five years of his 25-year sentence. Authorities haven’t said what he did to have his parole revoked.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – President Joe Biden will make his first trip to Iowa since he was elected next week. Biden will join US Representative Cindy Axne in Des Moines on Tuesday, April 12th. Details of the event, including the time and location, haven’t been released.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – State Republicans and Democrats will battle it out on Principal Park’s baseball field. The Inaugural Legislative Slow-Pitch Softball Game will be May 1st. Proceeds from the bi-partisan softball game will go to charity.
