AMES, IA (IRN) – A man was found shot to death outside of an apartment complex in Ames early Monday morning. Upon arrival, officers found the body of a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say the man is around 40 years of age. They aren’t certain if he lived at the apartment complex or in the neighborhood.

MARION COUNTY IOWA (IRN) – A boat capsized in the Des Moines River Saturday afternoon southeast of Runnells. Of the three on board, two made it to safety, and 34-year-old Dustin Lee Dittmer of Colfax is still missing. The search began Saturday afternoon, continued all day Sunday, and will resume Monday morning.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Three Iowa teens were shot during a Roosevelt High School prom after-party early Sunday morning. A 17-year-old girl and two 18-year-old men were shot. Police say there were 200 people at the house; most of them teenagers. A group who was not invited to the party showed up and a fight broke out. That’s when shots were fired. All of the victims are expected to be okay.

IOWA CITY, IA (IRN – An investigation is underway following a report of a shooting near Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City on Sunday. One person was hospitalized for a gunshot wound.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A lightning strike caused a fire at the Brownstone Apartments in Des Moines Sunday morning. Brownstone residents said a flash of light woke them up around 7:30 a.m. While no one was hurt, about 20 residents are now displaced due to the fire.
