POLK COUNTY, IA (IRN) – A teenager is dead after being struck on Interstate 80 in Polk County on Monday. According to troopers, a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 when 18-year-old Davis O. Cooper entered the roadway. He was struck and killed. Cooper was parked at a convenience store nearby before entering the interstate on foot.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a three-day operation in the Des Moines Metro. The operation targeted individuals seeking underage juveniles for sex. Eight arrests resulted from the operation. Three of the individuals are from Des Moines, two from Ankeny, one from Polk City, one from Ames, and one from Indianola.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A woman was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Des Moines on Monday. She was shot in the abdomen.

OSKALOOSA, IA (IRN) – Shortly after midnight on Monday, police were dispatched to a residence hall at William Penn University for a report of a stabbing. Crews found a 21-year-old victim outside the building with a laceration to his lower neck. He told police the man that stabbed him went by the name Z-Bo and which dorm to find him in. 22-year-old Zyrick Knight was arrested. The fight reportedly started while Knight was trying to sleep while the victim and his friends played loud music in the common area outside Knight’s room.
