DAVIS COUNTY, IA – An Ottumwa man was killed in a crash after a chase with police Saturday night. 19-year-old Reece Jones, who was driving a motorcycle, was trying to drive away from law enforcement near Bloomfield. As he was crossing an intersection, he collided with a pickup truck and was killed. The 17-year-old driver of the pickup was uninjured. It’s not known what led to the chase.

MARSHALL COUNTY, IA (IRN) – One person was killed after their tractor was hit by a car and rolled into a ditch near Albion on Saturday. The tractor had pulled out of a private driveway and was then rear ended by a car. The driver of the tractor, 86-year-old Clarence Borton, passed away from his injuries at the scene of the crash. Those in the car suffered minor injuries.

MARSHALLTOWN, IA (IRN) – A 4-year-old child was injured after being hit by a Marshalltown Police Officer in his patrol car Saturday evening. The child sustained injuries to their right foot and leg, as well as various scratches. The child was transported to a medical facility to be treated for the minor injuries and was later released. The incident is under investigation.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Iowa Safe Schools hosted a ‘drag story hour’ at the Des Moines Central Library Sunday afternoon. The group says they hope to offer visibility and affirmation to LGBTQ kids. Hundreds were in attendance. There was a small group of protesters across the street from the library, praying.
