PERRY – The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has released the name of the deceased victim from Thursday’s shooting at Perry High School. Perry Community School District classes are all cancelled through at least Thursday.

WEST DES MOINES – A West Des Moines teenager has been charged with threat of terrorism. KCCI-TV reports that just hours after the deadly shooting in Perry, 18-year-old Lakeeve Fort is accused of asking whether or not he should shoot up a school. Fort told police he had posted a Snapchat memory from a year ago. The FBI assisted West Des Moines police in the arrest.

IOWA – Chances are increasing for the first winter storm of 2024 and the season starting Monday across most of the state. According to the National Weather Service, the vast majority of Iowans should see at least two inches of snow, and many pockets of the state could see up to half a foot by Tuesday evening. Travel impacts could also be worsened by anticipated mixed precipitation in some communities.

IOWA CITY – In the same week she hit a memorable game winning shot as time expired against Michigan State, Caitlin Clark continues to make history. The Iowa Hawkeyes standout recorded her 8th career triple double with at least 25 points scored against Rutgers, according to the Sporting News. Nobody else in the history of NCAA men’s or women’s basketball has more than three such performances.
