MARSHALLTOWN – Marshalltown police are searching for a suspect they believe is responsible for the death of a 41-year-old over the weekend. Officers are seeking the whereabouts of 18-year-old Victor Antonio Delgadillo, who is accused of first degree murder and harassment. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. Police say Delgadillo killed Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves early Saturday morning.
IOWA – John Deere has laid off more than 600 workers this year, and more are likely, according to a KWWL report. The manufacturer is purchasing land in Mexico for a new production plant, moving some of their current operations from Dubuque across the southern border. The company claims the move is best for efficiency and workforce. The move is expected in 2026.
CEDAR RAPIDS – A Cedar Rapids man will spend 50 years in prison for the murder of his mother. KCRG-TV reports a Linn County Judge ruled George Deason was guilty for 2nd degree murder earlier this year for the 2020 death of Elsie Deason, as investigators believe George severely beat the woman and caused the injuries that led to her death. Deason will be eligible for parole after 35 years.
