INDIANAPOLIS – A Texas man was arrested for the alleged stalking of a former Iowa women’s basketball superstar athlete. KCCI-TV reports 55-year-old Michael Lewis was arrested Sunday in Indianapolis following a series of messages directed at Caitlin Clark. Court records indicated Lewis traveled to the home of the Indiana Fever to be closer to the WBNA Rookie of the Year. Lewis is accused of sending sexual and threatening messages, even after initial contact from law enforcement.
DES MOINES – The 2025 Iowa Legislative Session has gaveled in, with Governor Kim Reynolds set to lay our her agenda for the next four months at a speech tonight. The annual Condition of the State address will be held at 6 p.m. at the Iowa State Capitol. Reynolds enters the next two-year general assembly with an expanded supermajority in both legislative chambers. Property tax reform has been identified as a key priority prior to the session, and Reynolds is expected to lay our her initial proposal for changes.
IOWA – Following another burst of cold today, a brief warm up into the 40s later this week will give way to arctic chill across the state. According to the National Weather Service, long-range forecasts show the majority of January will remain frigid, with many overnight low temperatures dipping below zero, especially starting Sunday and continuing well into next week. Those with outdoor plans after Saturday should take extra precautions due to the cold.
