GOLDFIELD – A Huxley woman died in a crash involving a gator near the Boone River over the weekend. The Iowa State Patrol reports 20-year-old McKenna Mae Woodbeck was the passenger on the UTV operated by 21-year-old Levi Edward Rasmussen. He misjudged how close they were to the Boone River, and entered the water from a “significant” drop from the bank. Woodbeck was trapped underneath the gator. Rasmussen was injured.

GREENE COUNTY – One person is dead following an officer involved shooting in Greene County. WHO-13 reports the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the Boone Police Department with a pursuit on Saturday evening. The alleged suspect died following a shooting. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the review of the incident.

AMES – For the second year in a row, Iowa State Cyclone kicker Kyle Konrardy found the game winning points late in the 4th quarter to give the home team a win in the Cy-Hawk Series over the Hawkeyes. Konrardy kicked a 54-yard field goal with 1:52 remaining to lift No. 16 Iowa State to a 16-13 victory over Iowa. It’s the first time since 2011 that the Cyclones have won the rivalry game in the confines of Jack Trice Stadium — they’ve now won three of the last four matchups after six wins in a row for the Hawks.
