POWESHIEK COUNTY (IRN) – One person died in a crash in Poweshiek County Saturday morning. The Iowa State Patrol reports a motorcycle operated by Jon Gregory Bryan of Indiana rear ended a semi on Interstate 80. He was struck in the roadway by another semi, and was pronounced dead on scene.

AMES (IRN) – Several Republican Presidential Candidates were in Ames for the CyHawk series Saturday. Former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Ohio businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum were at the game. The Iowa Hawkeyes won 20-13 over the Cyclones.

DES MOINES (IRN) – The Des Moines City Council will vote to hold a special election for a new councilmember. KCCI-TV reports that on tonight’s agenda, the council will consider a special election to fill a seat vacated by Indira Sheumaker. The first-term councilmember resigned after failing to appear at a meeting since March.
