IOWA – Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset today in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Pearl Harbor was attacked 83 years ago. 2,403 service members and civilians were killed. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be half-staff on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state.
OSCEOLA – Clarke County emergency responders identified the man who called into 911 for a man suffering from a gunshot wound and the sheriff’s office arrested him for an alleged attack on that man. The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office charged 32-year-old George William Douglas of Woodburn with attempted murder, going armed with intent, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Emergency responders arrived on Tuesday afternoon in rural Clarke County and found 35-year-old Tyler Scott Sutton of New Virginia in critical condition suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
