CHICAGO – Iowa City native Tim Dwight was inducted into the NFHS National High School Hall of Fame in Chicago this week. Dwight led City High to its first state football championship in 1993 by scoring four touchdowns in the state final. He set a state record with 43 touchdowns as a senior. Tim also remains the state’s only able-bodied 12-time champion in Iowa boys track and field history. Dwight was named Gatorade Player of the Year once in football and three times in track and field. Tim began to attract national attention at the University of Iowa, where he was a wide receiver and kick returner for Coach Hayden Fry, earning consensus first-team All-American in 1997 and followed that with 10 years in the NFL.
