FORT DODGE – An arrest has been made in connection to a Tuesday morning shooting in Fort Dodge. WHO-13 reports 38-year-old Rolman H. Recinos has been charged with first degree murder. The department responded to shots fired early Tuesday morning. Recinos also faces a count of trafficking stolen weapons.
BREMER COUNTY – The motorcyclist involved in a fatal crash in northeastern Iowa has been identified. KCRG-TV reports 44-year-old Robert Detmering III of Osage was traveling on Highway 218 and crossed the median, striking a jeep in the other lane. Determing died at the scene, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
DES MOINES – A longtime member of the Polk County Board of Supervisors announced her retirement. The Des Moines Register reports Angela Connolly will not run for re-election following 25 years serving on the state’s largest county board. Connolly represents the fifth district of Polk County, which largely covers the northern and eastern portions of Des Moines.
SIOUX CITY – One game in, an Iowa High School football team has seen its season end. KCCI-TV reports Siouxland Christian in eight-player football has cancelled the remainder of its varsity games over safety concerns. The school opened last week against Coon Rapids-Bayard in a 60-0 loss and forfeited the game at halftime.
