DENSION – Charges have been dropped against an Iowa woman accused of child endangerment resulting in death. KTIV reports prosecutors have dismissed the case against 23-year-old Sarah Lembke of Charter Oak, who was arrested in January following the death of an infant. The baby’s father faces charges of first-degree murder and child abuse, as 24-year-old Chad Gibbs is accused of causing the injuries. That trial is scheduled for March.

DES MOINES – Nurses at UnityPoint hospitals in the Des Moines metro are set to vote on unionizing. KCCI-TV reports the nurses are seeking to work with Teamsters to call on better staffing and equipment ratios, wages, and hours. State Representative Jennifer Konfrst was in attendance at a final rally event, and criticized the hospital for spending millions of dollars in anti-union efforts. A vote to form a union will be held starting December 7th.

IOWA – Iowans can buy 2026 resident hunting, fishing and other licenses on Dec. 15. Licenses purchased for 2025 expire on Jan. 10. The menu of license options includes the Outdoor Combo annual resident hunting/fishing/habitat combo license for $55; the Angler’s Special three-year fishing license for $62; and the Hunter’s Special three-year hunting license with habitat included for $101. Licenses are available at 650 locations across the state, and online, according to the Iowa DNR.
