IOWA – A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by an Iowa man who was denied the status of being the “Professor of Pokémon.” Iowa Capital Dispatch reports 34-year-old Kyle Owens of Laurens sued Nintendo and an affiliate company in the U.S. District Court of Southern Iowa, claiming federal antitrust actions violate the Sherman Act. He was seeking a court order that would grant him $341,000 in damages and award him Pokémon Professor Certification. A prior arrest warrant was found during a background check, and Owens was denied in an application. U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand called the lawsuit frivolous and a complete waste of his and the court’s time.
