CLIVE, IA (IRN) – A Clive man is accused of stalking after allegedly placing Air Tags on a woman’s car. Court documents say Carl Shawver used Apple Air Tags to keep track of a woman he referred to as his wife, even though the two never had a relationship. MARENGO, Iowa (KCRG) – The Marengo Fire Department is taking stock after the explosion at a shingle recycling plant Thursday that injured at least 10 people. All of their gear has oil stains they have been unable to remove, and likely contains carcingens. The gear will cost $80,000 to replace. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A senior officer with the Des Moines Police Department was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly operating a vehicle while under the influence. Angel Danniel Perez Aguilar, 27, a five year veteran of the police force, was charged with operating while under the influence first offense and possession or carrying of dangerous weapons while under the influence. ALLIANCE, OH – Wartburg College’s run to the Division III football championship was stopped on Saturday by Mount Union in a back-and-forth semifinal game decided in the final minute. The Purple Raiders scored a touchdown with 31 seconds left in the game to go ahead, holding on to a 34-31 victory over the Knights.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A teenager has pled guilty to second-degree murder in the drive-by shooting death of a 15-year-old boy outside a Des Moines high school back in March. 18-year-old Daniel Hernandez accepted a plea dea. The shooting was allegedly carried out by 10 teenagers aged 14 to 18, riding in three vehicles and using at least six guns from which they fired more than 42 bullets toward several youth standing near East High School. Jose Lopez died from gunshot wounds and his sister and one of her friends were seriously injured. WEST DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A man from West Des Moines is fighting for survival following an attack by two of his dogs Thursday afternoon. They were pit bulls. WAUKEE, IA (IRN) – A Black student is suing the Waukee School District saying she and other students of color were sent to the back of the bus during a band trip. The alleged incident occurred in November before the Northwest High School Marching band returned from Omaha. IOWA (IRN) – Snow totals show the heaviest snow Thursday through Friday fell in northern Iowa. Algona received over seven inches of snow.

AMES, IA (IRN) – Ames police are investigating after a train hit and killed a pedestrian Friday Morning. Police haven’t released the name of the person who was killed. FREMONT COUNTY, IA (IRN) – No evidence of human remains have been found after a multi-day excavation was conducted in rural Fremont County near the town of Thurman. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said on Thursday that no remains were found, despite reports that the property was the dumping ground of a serial killer. Lucy Studey told the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 that her dad, Donald Studey, was a serial killer and made her help dispose of the bodies of several woman. MARENGO, IA (IRN) – At least 10 people have been injured and nearby homes were evacuated following an explosion at an industrial building in Marengo on Thursday morning. The building is owned by Heartland Crush, but is operated by C6-Zero, a company that converts used roofing shingles into biodiesel and other products. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines Police are working to sort out how a traffic accident resulted in one person suffering a gunshot wound on Thursday afternoon. Police say one vehicle ran a red light at an intersection and hit another vehicle. That led to a confrontation between the drivers, with one them apparently shooting the other in the leg. IOWA CITY, IA (IRN) – Filip Rebraca had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Iowa used a big start to beat No. 20 Iowa State 75-56 on Thursday night, giving coach Fran McCaffery his 500th career victory.

CALMAR, IA (IRN) – A semi crash resulted in the death of 12 cattle late Wednesday night near Calmar in Winneshiek County. The semi-driver attempted to get a jug of water from the passenger side of the cab. The driver was also talking on the phone using a hands-free headset. The semi dropped off the pavement onto the shoulder, where the driver lost control and overturned the semi-tractor and trailer. There were about 33 cattle inside the trailer. Several were thrown from the trailer, and several others were trapped inside. The semi was totaled in the crash. FORT DODGE, IA (IRN) – Fort Dodge police have made two arrests in the murder of a newborn baby. Taylor Blaha, 24, and Brandon Thoma, 31, are both facing first-degree murder charges. Blaha is the mother of the newborn, and Thoma is the father. Thoma also faces an abuse of a corpse charge. The baby’s body remains missing. DECATUR COUNTY, IA (IRN) – A deceased male was found near a burned vehicle in a field Saturday in Davis County. Responding deputies found Michael Moulds, from Corydon, 69, deceased in a field beside his burned vehicle. An investigation shows Moulds’ vehicle became stuck in the field and caught fire. DAVIS COUNTY, IA (IRN) – A suspected armed robber is in the hospital after being shot in Davis County on Wednesday. There was a large police presence in Blakesburg about 85 miles southeast of Des Moines. The Iowa DCI says the suspect was shot after a chase. IOWA CITY, IA (IRN) – The No. 16 Iowa women’s basketball team rallied from a 5-point deficit to beat No. 10 ISU 70-57 Wednesday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa has now defeated its in-state rival six out of the last seven years.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The Iowa High School Athletic Association wants to consider socioeconomic factors when scheduling high school football games next year. The proposal would shuffle about 40 different schools, and it still needs to be voted on by athletic directors in the state. Schools with high free or reduced lunch numbers might go down a class. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A former Des Moines metro area youth pastor is charged with giving alcohol to minors and sexually assaulting them. Caleb Toney faces five charges, including assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and supplying alcohol to someone underage. The incidents were with boys and happened in Ankeny and Elkhart. CORALVILLE, IA (IRN) – A Cedar Rapids area Jewish leader is sending a message of resilience after anti-Semitic flyers appeared on the lawns of some Coralville homes. Among the messages on the flyers was “Kanye West is Right,” referring to West’s recent pro-Hitler and anti-Jewish statements. MARION, IA (IRN) – Tuesday was not a normal school day for one Marion principal. He had to spend it in a temporary jail cell in the middle of the school. St. Joseph Principal Casey Kettmann was “locked up” for the entire school day as a reward to the students for raising money. It was part of their fall fundraiser called the Charger Challenge. The initial goal was to raise $15,000, but Kettmann soon found out how eager his students were to see him in this temporary jail cell. They ended up raising nearly $50,000.
