PAWNEE, OK (IRN) – An earthquake with an epicenter near Pawnee, Oklahoma was felt in much of Iowa this morning. The U.S. Geological Survey reports that the 5.6 magnitude earthquake happened at 7:02 a.m. today. That ties for Oklahoma’s strongest earthquake on record, the first coming in November 2011. No major damage was immediately reported.

WATERLOO, IA (IRN) – Police in Waterloo have arrested four people, including two teenagers, in connection to the murder of a Waterloo man. KGAN-TV reports on July 17, 21-year-old Otavious Brown died from a gunshot wound to the chest. Two others were wounded. The four face charges of Murder in the 1st Degree, Attempted Murder, and Intimidation with a Weapon.

CORALVILLE, IA (IRN) – Two people were wounded in a shooting at a Coralville apartment complex yesterday, according to KCRG-TV. Both are expected to survive. Police say this is a targeted incident where both the suspects and victims knew each other, and do not believe this is a random shooting.

FOREST CITY, IA – A Winnebago County man has been charged with two counts of 2nd degree theft and three counts of 3rd degree burglary. KIMT-TV reports 26-year-old Tylor Anderson of Forest City broke into two locked storage garages and took two sets of golf clubs. He’s also accused of breaking into two locked storage containers and a locked semi trailer, allegedly stealing two window air conditioners, a “Shark Rocket” vacuum, a 3’x10’ swimming pool and a tent.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Developers announced Friday new details about the 26-story Blackbird Development building in downtown Des Moines. KCCI-TV reports the $85 million project will feature a 10,000-square-foot roof deck with a cantilevered pool, fire pits and cabanas. The building will have ground floor commercial space, 276 luxury apartments, a co-working space for residents and an electric vehicle garage.
