CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – A man died from gunshot wounds in Cedar Rapids, according to KCRG-TV. Cedar Rapids police responded to a report of shots fired yesterday, and found two victims. Police have no suspects in custody.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – Cedar Rapids Police are looking for a man they say robbed a local bank. KWWL-TV reports a man dressed in a red ball baseball cap gave a teller at the Collins Community Credit Union a note saying he had a gun, and demanded money.

CLIVE, IA (IRN) – Police in the Des Moines metro are warning women to be careful about where they leave their purses after a Florida woman was caught on camera cashing fraudulent checks. KCCI-TV reports thieves are waiting in parking lots for women to go into stores, then nab their purses while they’re shopping.

AMES, IA (IRN) – Iowa native and Dallas Mavericks forward Harrison Barnes returned to his hometown of Ames Saturday to pay it forward. WHO-TV reports Barnes, along with his wife Brittany, presented a $300,000 donation check to fund the construction of the Miracle Playground and Field in Ames.
