DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines police arrested a barking, naked man Friday morning after he stole a car. WHO-TV reports after abandoning the car, he ran barking through backyards and onto rooftops in an attempt to get away. The suspect was tased twice as officers tried to take him into custody, but he wasn’t affected. He also tried to steal one of the officers’ patrol cars before he was arrested.Two officers and the suspect were injured. Police say the officers’ suffered scratches, and the suspect had wounds from taser deployment and scratches from climbing over fences. The name of the suspect has not been released, and police believe that he was under the influence.

NEVADA, IA (IRN) – A drifter accused of murdering a star collegiate golfer wrote a letter saying he wants to plead guilty, according to KCCI-TV. Collin Daniel Richards has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of ISU student Celia Barquin Arozamena. Investigators say Richards attacked Barquin while she was playing a round at a public course in Ames. Her body was found in a pond on the course riddled with stab wounds.

WATERLOO, IA (IRN) – A Waterloo man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he killed his wife and set her body on fire in a cemetery last year. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that 28-year-old Fredrick Williams is charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the death of 40-year-old Lakisha Williams. She was asphyxiated. Her body was found on the ground in a remote area of Garden of Memories cemetery in Waterloo.

OTTUMWA, IA (IRN) – A bar fight in Ottumwa ended with a woman being arrested, according to KTVO-TV. Police say Terri Haines, 26, of Ottumwa, brutally attacked another woman at Courtside Bar and Grill. Haines allegedly pulled the victim’s hair and punched her in the face numerous times. Haines admitted to police that she assaulted the woman. No word on what started the fight.

TRAER, IA (IRN) – Fire crews in Traer used a construction lift to rescue a man stranded in his truck in the floodwaters of Wolf Creek Thursday. KWWL-TV reports he was stranded for about seven hours, and was hospitalized for treatment.
