DAVENPORT, IA (IRN) – Two Davenport parents were arrested after drugs were found inside their home where two children fell out of a second story window. WQAD-TV reports after searching the home on May 15, a quarter pound of marijuana was found. One of the children suffered head trauma and a broken leg, the other child wasn’t seriously hurt.

MARSHALLTOWN, IA (IRN) – A child was flown to a Des Moines-area hospital Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a car in Marshalltown, according to KCCI-TV. Police didn’t identify the victim but said the accident involved an elementary school-aged child.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – A pane of glass from a downtown Cedar Rapids highrise fell out of place and onto the street below last night. KCRG-TV reports no one was injured, and no vehicles were damaged.

FAYETTE COUNTY, IA (IRN) – Over 2,000 chickens are dead after a semi rollover in Fayette County around 2 a.m. Tuesday. KWWL-TV reports the driver was driving a semi full of 5,000 chickens when he lost control. Nearly half the chickens were killed. The driver and the passenger, a child, were both treated for minor injuries.

BAGLEY, IA (IRN) – The small town of Bagley has been under a boil advisory since March, but a solution to the problem might be a year away. WHO-TV reports one resident says, “I don’t touch the water, I don’t give it to my dogs, I don’t even put it in my fish tank, it’ll kill the fish.” The Iowa Department of Natural Resources found high levels of manganese in the city’s drinking water. Residents are warned not to drink the water, but locals say the city isn’t doing much to help find a solution to the problem.
