DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A Des Moines man faces sexual abuse charges after police said he sexually assaulted a young boy and tried to entice another. Loren Lewis, 39, faces two counts of enticing a minor and one count of second-degree sexual abuse. Lewis enticed an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy into a secluded area. One of those boys was sexually assaulted.
Lewis was acquainted with the boys because he lived in the neighborhood.
FORT DODGE, IA (IRN) – A teen is the victim of a shooting in Fort Dodge on Saturday. WHO-TV reports police responded to reports of shots fired and found a 16-year-old male with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his legs.
DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Police confirmed that one person has been taken to a Des Moines hospital with multiple stab wounds Saturday. KCCI-TV reports the victim was alert and conscious.
DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A state board has approved a measure that expands the number of medical conditions that can legally be treated by medical marijuana in Iowa. The Des Moines Register reports that the Iowa Medical Cannabidiol Board voted Friday to allow those with chronic pain to have legal access to medical marijuana. The condition joins others already allowed, including seizures, Crohn’s disease, AIDS, Lou Gehrig’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
