APPANOOSE COUNTY, IA (IRN) – One person is dead after being shot by law enforcement officials just outside of Centerville Sunday. Two Centerville officers and an Appanoose County sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene on a report of a domestic assault. While they were investigating the incident, the law enforcement officers became engaged in a shooting that resulted in the death of another person.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – Cedar Falls Police were dispatched to the Days Inn after a victim walked in and said he had been assaulted. The victim said he had been at a residence meeting with an acquaintance where he was held by force and restrained to a chair. The victim reported being burned, struck with blunt objects and gagged while being restrained by two subjects who were armed with a handgun. A man and a woman are in custody.

BOONE, IA (IRN) – The Boone Police Department says Officer Mario Gonzalez died in a traffic accident on Saturday. Gonzalez was off duty at the time. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.

WOODWARD, IA (IRN) – A massive warehouse development on the edge of Woodward — often rumored to be but never confirmed as Amazon — has been halted. The warehouse and distribution facility was intended to have more than 1,000,000 square feet of space and potentially employ 1,000 people.

CEDAR FALLS, IA (IRN) – UNI has made the FCS playoffs and will face Eastern Washington in the opening round on Saturday. Northern Iowa (6-5) will play at Eastern Washington (9-2) on Saturday at 3 p.m. The winner of the Northern Iowa-Eastern Washington game will face No. 6 Montana (9-2) on Friday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. The first and second rounds will be streamed on ESPN+.
