CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – Cedar Rapids police are looking for the people who crashed a vehicle that had been stolen earlier in the day on Tuesday. Officials said the crash happened just after 8 p.m. in the area of the northbound ramp from I-380. Police said the vehicle was speeding while exiting the interstate. That’s when it crashed, rolled and stopped at the railroad tracks. Multiple people were inside the vehicle at the time, but they ran away by the time officers arrived.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Two southeast Iowa teenagers charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of their high school Spanish teacher asked a state court judge Tuesday to lower their bond so they could be released from jail. Willard Noble Chaiden Miller and Jeremy Everett Goodale, both 16, are accused of killing their high school Spanish teacher Nohema Graber in Fairfield.

MARION, IA (IRN) – First responders answered a “shots fired” 911 call near Indian Creek Elementary School in Marion on Tuesday. They located an adult male who had pulled into the school parking lot after his vehicle had been struck by gunfire. The school went into a temporary “lock-out” and police are investigating.

WAUKEE, IA (IRN) – The Waukee Police Department recovered a gun from a student’s backpack Tuesday. Waukee Timberline School staff told authorities that there was a possible gun in a student’s backpack. When police searched the student’s bag, they found a handgun. There were no threats made, and the student claimed they had the gun for “self-protection regarding a non-school related matter.” Authorities took the gun and transported the student to a juvenile detention facility.

IOWA (IRN) – The Iowa State Patrol is reminding drivers to follow the rules of the road over the Thanksgiving holiday, and to use a designated driver if alcohol is consumed.
