MARENGO, IA (IRN) – Marengo police say there was a gas leak at or near a home where a 13-year-old girl was found dead on Monday morning. No foul play is suspected.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Tuesday two legal actions following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Reynolds said she will urge the Iowa Supreme Court to rehear Planned Parenthood v. Reynolds. She will also request that the Iowa courts lift the injunction against the enforcement of Iowa’s fetal heartbeat law.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – Two separate shootings hurt two people on Tuesday night in Cedar Rapids. Both victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

DETROIT, MI (IRN) – The Detroit Pistons will not pick up the second-year option for Luka Garza. The Hawkeye legend played most of his minutes last year in the G-League. The 6’11” center signed with the Pistons full-time in September and played a total of 32 NBA games.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The state of Iowa is doling out $6 million to help develop the Field of Dreams TV series that will be partially shot in Iowa and available on NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock. Gov. Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Economic Development Authority made the announcement Monday. The funds come from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act. All of the Republicans in Iowa’s congressional delegation voted against the act. Only Rep. Cindy Axne, a Democrat, voted to approve the legislation.
