DUBUQUE, IA (IRN) – Three eastern Iowa teens are dead following a high-speed rollover crash in Dubuque early Friday morning. A Chevy Camaro driven by 18-year-old William Wodrich IV was traveling at a high rate of speed when Wodrich lost control. The car entered the ditch, vaulted, and then rolled. Wodrich and his passengers, 17-year-olds Kennedy Elskamp and Chloe Lucas of Dubuque, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A man died in a motorcycle crash Friday after accelerating away from a sheriff’s deputy in Des Moines. During rush hour Friday afternoon, a Polk County sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over the motorcycle. The driver accelerated away from the deputy and the traffic stop was abandoned. Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist failed to yield to a red light at an intersection and collided with a vehicle. The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital where he died.

IOWA (IRN) – There is a probable case of monkeypox in Iowa. The patient was likely infected during international travels and is isolating and receiving outpatient care. Monkeypox does not spread easily between people without close contact. It is typically characterized by a new, unexplained rash and skin lesions. Other early symptoms of monkeypox include fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Peacock has pulled the plug on a TV series inspired by the 1989 classic “Field of Dreams.” The limited series was set to be filmed in Iowa. However, the dream isn’t completely dead, as Universal Television is shopping the project to other outlets. It was scheduled to begin filming this summer.
