MISSOURI VALLEY, Iowa – A Missouri Valley man faces murder charges in connection to a person who went missing nearly three years ago. On Monday, agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation arrested and charged 52-year-old Joseph Langford of Missouri Valley for Murder in the First Degree and for the Abuse of a Corpse. On June 29, 2023, 35-year-old Jesse George of Missouri Valley was reported as a missing person to the Missouri Valley Police Department. In April 2026, Law Enforcement searched a rural location four miles northwest of Missouri Valley and located human remains, identified as George.

DES MOINES – Governor Kim Reynolds has signed an overhaul to the state’s property tax system into law. KCCI-TV reports Senate File 2472 will limit most local governments to tax revenue increases of two percent annual, with some exceptions. It also increases the homestead credit for most homeowners and creates savings accounts for first-time homebuyers.

OTTUMWA – An Ottumwa High School senior was killed in a crash on Sunday night. WHO-13 reports 18-year-old Ashlin Knuth was traveling on a rural road and was hit on the driver’s side of her vehicle by another. Knuth just graduated as part of the Class of 2026 at Ottumwa High School.
