DUBUQUE, IA (IRN) – A Dubuque man has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl from Fayette County. KCRG-TV reports Scott Allan Marcov, 25, was arrested by Dubuque police on February 4, 2020, and charged with sexual abuse by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. The assault allegedly occurred several years ago. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The Iowa Democratic Party says 100% of precincts are reporting results from the Iowa caucuses, and it’s a split decision. Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg holds a slight lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders in state delegate equivalents. Sanders won the popular vote. Sen. Elizabeth Warren comes in at third, former Vice President Joe Biden is fourth, and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is fifth. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The 50-year-old man critically injured when he was hit by a dump truck in downtown Des Moines in January has died, according to WHO-TV. The man was hit while crossing a street. The 71-year-old driver of the truck was initially cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and now additional charges are expected. CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – The Iowa Army National Guard ‘Ironman Battalion’ has received orders for a deployment to the Mideast. The Iron Battalion will deploy 550 soldiers from Charles City, Davenport, Dubuque, Iowa City, Iowa Falls, Oelwein, and Waterloo. The deployment is expected to last around a year. This is the fifth mobilization order for the Iron Battalion since 2000. BONDURANT, IA (IRN) – The long-rumored Amazon fulfillment center being built in Bondurant under the code-name Project Bluejay has finally been confirmed. The launch of the fulfillment center is anticipated for late 2020. The company says 1,000 full-time jobs will be created.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A construction worker has died after a fall from a scaffolding Thursday morning. It happened on Interstate 80 in Polk County. The construction worker fell about 30 feet from a scaffolding while working on the river bridge. Arriving deputies found a 56-year-old worker was unresponsive and had suffered a head injury. He was transported to a local hospital where he died upon arrival. IOWA (IRN) – With 97% of precincts reporting in the Iowa Caucuses, Pete Buttiege and Bernie Sanders are tied for first place with 26% of the vote. Elizabeth Warren is in third at 18.2%, Joe Biden in fourth at 15.8%, and Amy Klobuchar fifth at 12.2%. OGALLALA, NE (IRN) – A Kansas man charged with the Nebraska collision deaths of four Iowa motorcyclists has taken a plea deal. Jeser Cisneros-Hernandez, of Liberal, Kansas, pleaded no contest Tuesday in Ogallala to reckless and willful vehicular homicide. Cisneros-Hernandez’s vehicle hit two motorcycles carrying two people each on July 1, 2017, near Ogallala. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A Des Moines man remains hospitalized after being shot blocks away from the Iowa State Capitol. The Des Moines Register reports police were called about to the QuikTrip on East Grand Ave. on a call of a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The man lives near the convenience store and was walking in an alley when someone shot him. WATERLOO, IA (IRN) – A robbery at Maple Lanes Bowling Alley in Waterloo turned into arson, after at least three people set fire to the building. KGAN-TV reports in doing so, they robbed the city of an iconic bowling alley.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – An Iowa nurse accused of taking painkillers from hospital patients’ intravenous lines and injecting herself has pleaded guilty. The Gazette reports that Kelly Postel, 33, of Monticello, obtained an excess amount of fentanyl and morphine from the hospital pharmacy and administered patients’ prescribed amounts and then injected herself while at work with the leftover drugs. Postel also took fentanyl from an intensive care patient by using a syringe to withdraw it from an intravenous line and injected herself while still at work. IOWA (IRN) – Another round of results has come in for the Iowa Caucuses. With 86% of the precincts reporting, Pete Buttigieg is in first place with 27% of the vote, followed by Bernie Sanders at 24%, Elizabeth Warren at 17%, Joe Biden at 16%, and Amy Klobuchar at 12%. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The chairman of the Iowa Democratic Party says the delay in caucus reporting results was “unacceptable.” Troy Price said Tuesday that the party will conduct a “thorough, transparent and independent examination” of what caused the delays. He apologized for the breakdown in the process but says the results the party will release are accurate. IOWA CITY, IA (IRN) – The state of Iowa has agreed to pay a man $3.5 million to settle his negligence lawsuit against the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics over the deaths of his wife and newborn child. The Gazette reports the woman went to a Des Moines hospital complaining of cramping, vomiting and a headache. She was treated and discharged but admitted the next day for similar complaints. She was flown to the Iowa City hospital where doctors delivered their son. She died, and the boy died a couple of days later. IOWA (IRN) – Hy-Vee stores across the state are no longer open 24 hours. Most Hy-Vees will now only be open 5:00 a.m., to midnight.

IOWA (IRN) – Results are coming in for the Iowa Caucuses. With 62% of the precincts reporting, Pete Buttiege is in first place with 26.9% of the vote, followed by Bernie Sanders at 25.1%, Elizabeth Warren at 18.3%, and in fourth, Joe Biden at 15.6%. IOWA (IRN) – An embarrassing vote-reporting mess in the Iowa Democratic caucuses means there is so far no winner in the crucial opening contest to find a candidate to take on President Donald Trump in November. Results should be available later today. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The Iowa Democratic Party is coming under attack for issues reporting results, but not from the head of the Republican Party of Iowa. WHO-TV reports Republican Party Chair Jeff Kaufmann told WHO-TV that Democrats are doing the right thing by making sure their numbers are correct before publishing them. The Republicans made an error in 2012 announcing Mitt Romney had won, when Rick Santorum had. DENVER, IA (IRN) – A threat made to a northeast Iowa school district by text message was investigated and determined to not be credible, according to officials. KCRG-TV reports an 11-year-old girl made the threats to Denver Middle School and that they were not credible. NORTHWOOD, IA (IRN) – A woman accused of pretending she had cancer is pleading not guilty. KIMT-TV reports Jennifer Hope Mikesell, 43 of Northwood, faces multiple charges. Authorities say Mikesell falsely claimed to be getting cancer treatments and had received donations of money, food, other supplies, and a bedroom makeover in October 2019.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines police say they have located a minivan a driver used to get away from hit-and-run crash that left a 71-year-old woman in serious condition. A material witness warrant was issued for 41-year-old Isaias Flores-Morales, of Des Moines. Police believe he may have critical information in the crash. WATERLOO, IA (IRN) – A man riding a bike was hit and killed early Sunday morning in Waterloo, according to KGAN-TV. The man was dead when officers and firefighters arrived at the scene. CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest after a chase involving a tanker truck. KCRG-TV reports deputies received a call Sunday morning from someone who spotted their stolen truck going east on Highway 100. The truck driver didn’t stop for a deputy or Iowa State Patrol Troopers, which caused a pursuit. The driver swerved at an Iowa State Patrol car, causing damage, and the chase continued until stop sticks were deployed. The driver has multiple warrants and faces numerous charges. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) It’s been a month since the federal government announced its latest crackdown; hoping to keep e-cigarettes away from children and teens. Now, state lawmakers in Iowa are forging ahead with similar proposals of their own. Legislators are considering new laws to raise the minimum age for vaping from 18 to 21 years old in addition to other measures to try to restrict the product. DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – The Iowa Caucuses start this evening, and CBS News has released a new poll indicating two front-runners in Iowa. Both former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders are holding the first place with 25%. Mayor Pete Buttigieg is in third with 21%, Sen. Elizbeth Warren has 16% and Sen. Amy Klobuchar has 5%.
