SNOW CANYON STATE PARK, UT (IRN) – A teenage boy has died after falling inside Snow Canyon State Park in southwestern Utah. KUTV in Salt Lake City reports the incident happened Sunday afternoon. The 13-year-old, who was visiting from Iowa, was free climbing with no ropes or equipment. Park officials say he was dead at the scene. The boy, whose name has not been released, was visiting his mother and two other children.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines police retrieved a body from a wooded area south of the Raccoon River early Sunday evening. The Des Moines Register reports the body is likely that of a homeless man, and no foul play is suspected.

ANAMOSA, IA (IRN) – The Iowa State Patrol thinks Iowa has a drug problem that’s only getting worse. KCRG-TV reports the problem might be our neighbors. Iowa State Patrol Trooper Bob Conrad says, “We see more drugs coming in from Colorado.” Marijuana isn’t the only issue on Iowa roads, though. Illicit pill use is on the rise, too.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Hundreds of people who come from all faiths gathered Sunday at First Christian Church in Des Moines to stand with Muslims after the massacre in New Zealand. KCCI-TV reports it wasn’t a normal Sunday service as Muslims, Christians, atheists and Jews sent a message that they stand with the Muslim community and against hate. The interfaith service came in response to the massacre during Friday prayers at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

IOWA (IRN) – The Iowa and Iowa State basketball teams learned Sunday who they will square off against in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. The 6-seed Cyclones will play 11-seed Ohio State in Tulsa on Friday. The 10-seed Hawkeyes will play 7-seed Cincinnati Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
