DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A driver has been given probation and suspended prison time for the crash death of another driver in Des Moines. KCCI-TV reports 35-year-old Grant Uhe was sentenced Tuesday to two years of probation and a suspended sentence of 10 years in prison. He’d pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide by reckless driving. Uhe was driving more than 75 mph in a 30 mph zone last year before his pickup truck crashed into a car driven by 19-year-old Tyler Wilcox. Police say Wilcox died later at a hospital.

MUSCATINE, IA (IRN) – The driver who police say hit and killed a bicyclist in August in Muscatine has been arrested. WQAD-TV reports Terry Gough, 52, from Morning Sun, allegedly hit a bicyclist, didn’t stop to help, and later drove by the scene once emergency vehicles arrived.

DUBUQUE, IA (IRN) – A man was killed in an accident in Dubuque County on Wednesday. KCRG-TV reports a 61-year-old man was working on the frame of a dump truck when the dump box came down upon him.

WAUKEE, IA (IRN) – Vice President Mike Pence returned to Iowa Wednesday with a familiar message: Democrats in Congress need to pass the US-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement. Pence said, “I came to Iowa today to turn up the heat…it’s time for the Democrats in Congress to do their job, put politics aside and pass the USMCA this year.”
