OSKALOOSA, IA (IRN) – Iowa Department of Public Safety officials say a man faces child endangerment and assault charges after an infant was brought to a hospital. Richard Samuel Grylls, 35, was arrested Wednesday without incident at his Oskaloosa home. Investigators said a 10-month old was brought to the Mahaska County Hospital with multiple injuries on October 16. Grylls is charged with one count of assault and one count of child endangerment causing injury against a non-relative infant. The infant is expected to make a full recovery.

WEBSTER CITY, IA (IRN) – The wife of a Webster City man who went missing Sunday afternoon confirmed police found him dead Wednesday. The Des Moines Register reports Jay Dee Wynkoop, 38, left his home at 1 p.m. Sunday, leaving behind keys and his wallet. His car was located in a truck stop parking lot. He was the father of 11 children.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Three people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Des Moines Git-N-Go store Monday night. WHO-TV reports police are investigating whether the suspects are linked to five more Git-N-Go robberies in Des Moines this month.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – George Karaidos Jr., known as the “Chili King,” has died. He was 86. KCCI reported he passed away from bladder cancer. His restaurant, George the Chili King, has been a Des Moines staple for almost 100 years. He was the third in his family to own George the Chili King. He was crowned Chili King on Hickman and Merle Hay in 1952 and had been a friendly face in Des Moines for generations.

CLINTON, IA (IRN) – The Clinton Fire Department is honoring fallen firefighter Lt. Eric Hosette with a new ladder truck, named Ladder Truck 190. KGAN-TV reports the truck is named Ladder Truck 190 because “190” was Hosette’s badge number. Hosette was killed in the line of duty while responding to a fire at Clinton’s ADM Plant.
