RUNNELLS, IA (IRN) – Police are investigating after two hunters found a body in Yellow Banks Park near the Des Moines River southwest of Runnells. The remains are so decayed it is unclear if the person is a man or woman or how long they have been in the park.
GRUNDY CENTER, IA (IRN) – A northeast Iowa man is dead after he was hit by a car in a Grundy Center parking lot Wednesday. WHO-TV reports a 77-year-old Grundy Center woman was backing out of a Casey’s General Store parking spot when she suddenly accelerated. Her car struck a 29-year-old man from Aplington, and pinned him between the car and a trailer attached to his work vehicle. He was flown to a hospital where he died.
DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Des Moines police have made six arrests following multiple convenience store robberies. KCCI-TV reports they used knives and guns to threaten store employees.
BURLINGTON, IA (IRN) – A house fire investigation in Burlington, Iowa, has led to an arrest. An 18-year-old man is charged with Felony-First Degree Arson. He is being held without bond until a pending court date. There were no injuries.
OSKALOOSA, IA (IRN) – Standout Oskaloosa High School Basketball player Xavier Foster has narrowed his college choices to two schools — Iowa and Iowa State. Foster, the athletic 7-footer who has been multiple colleges top 2020 target for three years, is set to announce his decision Nov. 11 and sign with his school Nov. 13. Foster was seen as Iowa’s top 2020 prospect before he ever played a high school basketball game.
