RUDD, IA (IRN) – The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a fatal collision in Floyd County near Rudd Saturday. A 2015 Ford Taurus was driving north and failed to stop at a posted stop sign, crashing into an eastbound 2003 Ford Windstar. This is being classified as a fatal crash but the State Patrol has not identified any of the people in either vehicle or their condition.

BONDURANT, IA (IRN) – Iowa State Patrol troopers pursued in a car at 125 mph after recognizing the vehicle as one that was stolen and connected to a death investigation, according to KCCI-TV. Joey Vazquez, 35, was taken into custody. Test results showed he had injected methamphetamine, consumed bath salts and smoked marijuana.

URBANDALE, IA (IRN) – An Urbandale mother faces charges after police say she left her young children home alone for hours while she was out drinking. Oo Ngwai is charged with two counts of child endangerment. Ngwai left her 5-year-old and 7-year-old sons sleeping in their apartment while she took a friend home around 3 a.m. last Sunday. She became too drunk to drive back home and fell asleep at another location. The children were alone for 14 hours until police contacted her around 4 p.m.

IOWA (IRN) – The University of Iowa football team ended its three-game losing streak against Northwestern with a 20-0 shutout on Saturday. The Hawkeyes are now bowl-eligible. Oklahoma State beat Iowa State 34-27.
