AMES, IA (IRN) – Iowa State University police are investigating a student’s death. KCCI-TV reports his body was found on campus Sunday night. Authorities don’t suspect foul play, and the name of the student has not been released.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle near Drake University. At approximately 7:15 p.m. Thursday, a 28-year-old man was struck by a car. He was transported to a hospital where he died of his injuries.

FOREST CITY, IA (IRN) – A Winnebago County woman is facing drug charges after a search of her apartment. KIMT-TV reports neighbors reported the smell of marijuana coming from the apartment of Kirstie Michelle Pienta, 29. Officers found Pienta with a baggie of four grams of marijuana, a vial with four grams of marijuana, a bottle of Vyvanse with someone else’s name crossed out with a marker, and two drug pipes. Vyvanse is a stimulant used to treat ADHD and binge-eating disorder.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Iowa Democratic legislators said that the state’s former Speaker of the House, Pat Murphy, offered donations to their campaigns if they endorsed Tom Steyer, the California billionaire running for president. Murphy’s actions are not illegal. However, payments for endorsements would violate campaign finance laws if not disclosed.

DES MOINES, (IRN) – The Iowa Supreme Court will take an appeal of an Iowa attorney who challenged a 2017 flight Gov. Kim Reynolds and her family took on a private jet to a football game in Memphis, Tennessee. Reynolds attended the Liberty Bowl to watch Iowa State play Memphis. The plane was owned by a company who had a contract with the state.
