CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (IRN) – One man is dead following a crash in Cedar Rapids Saturday night. KWWL-TV reports police attempted to stop a BMW that was driving recklessly. Authorities say the car took off at a high rate of speed, the driver lost control, hit a pole, and was killed.

ANKENY, IA (IRN) – An Ankeny man is in the Polk County Jail on Saturday after police say he sexually abused a relative. KCCI-TV reports Andrew Jon Fisher, 39, was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of second-degree sex abuse, third-degree sex abuse and incest. The victim is a minor.

HUMBOLDT, IA (IRN) – The Humboldt-Dakota City Chamber of Commerce sent out a letter this week saying the organization would dissolve at the end of the year. The reason is declining membership was making it hard for the organization to function.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – Former Iowa Governor and US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and former first lady Christie Vilsack endorsed former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden at an event in Des Moines yesterday. Biden said it’s Iowa’s “most important” endorsement.
