SIOUX CITY, IA (IRN) – A 23-year-old Sioux City man has been charged with murder 15 months after the death of his girlfriend’s child. KWWL-TV reports Tayvon Davis is charged with first-degree murder, child endangerment resulting in death and multiple acts of child endangerment. An autopsy showed the girl had several blunt force injuries to her head and a kidney and had suffered fractures to her vertebrae and ribs.

IOWA CITY, IA (IRN) – One person was injured during a home invasion Sunday night, according to KCRG-TV. Five men, some armed with handguns, broke into a woman’s home. One of the males was wearing a black and green camouflage hooded sweatshirt and another was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a red bandanna around his face. The victim was struck and injured during the incident, before the males left in a dark SUV. She was treated for a laceration.

MONTICELLO, IA (IRN) – The body of a missing Monticello man, Jay Hanken, was found Sunday morning in a stretch of Kitty Creek. KGAN-TV reports the location is a remote section of Monticello, not far from Hanken’s residence. A cause of death has not been determined, and no foul play is suspected.

DES MOINES, IA (IRN) – One person was seriously hurt after being ejected from a vehicle during a car crash on Des Moines’ south side yesterday, according WHO-TV. An adult man was ejected in the crash. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

AMES, IA (IRN) – The second-ranked University of Iowa Wrestling team defeated No. 11 Iowa State, 29-6, on Sunday in the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. Iowa won eight-of-10 bouts, and its win was its 16th straight in the series as the Hawkeyes retain possession of the Dan Gable Traveling Trophy for the 10th straight year.
