ANKENY, IA (IRN) – One man is dead and three others were injured Friday after a head-on crash east of Ankeny. A red Chevrolet Cruz was traveling eastbound when the driver attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle. The driver crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The truck was driven by a man who had two passengers in the truck. All three were transported to the hospital by ambulance. The 32-year-old driver of the Cruz died on scene.

CARROLL, IA (IRN) – Several Iowa law enforcement agencies are collaborating on an investigation of a strip club. A search warrant was executed Thursday night at Ossy’s Show Club in Carroll. Detectives are investigating allegations of possible underage female performers working at the establishment.

IOWA (IRN) – One school superintendent has come out strongly against Governor Kim Reynolds voucher plan that takes money away from public schools to be used for tuition at private schools.. Dan Barkel, Superintendent for MMCRU Community Schools says, “If I would lose six students because of this legislation I would be having to take a look at cutting a teacher. If I cut one teacher then that means I might have to start cutting programs.”

IOWA (IRN) – After weeks of rainy and cool weather in April and early May, Iowa launched into the middle of summer this week as temperatures soared into the 90s. From Tuesday, May 10 to Thursday, May 12, 255 record warm temperatures were set across the state.
