APPANOOSE COUNTY, IA (IRN) – Authorities are searching for a man considered armed and dangerous in rural Appanoose County after a deputy was assaulted on Saturday. A deputy was responding to a report of a suspicious person in Moravia, when the suspect, 33-year-old David Duane Boley, assaulted him. Boley, who was armed, ran away after the incident. Boley is wanted on warrants for sexual abuse, drug distribution to a minor and child endangerment.

CENTRAL CITY, IA (IRN) – An unidentified female died on Saturday afternoon in an incident while tubing on the Wapsipinicon River northwest of Central City. The person who made the 911 report said that she had seen her friend’s tube floating by without her with it. First responders located her body later that afternoon.

VINTON, IA (IRN) – Riverside Park in Vinton was vandalized overnight Friday. The Vinton Police Department was made aware of the vandalism at around 3:00 a.m. when it received a report of a fire at the park. Officers arrived and discovered a Vinton Parks and Recreation Department vehicle on fire along with the playground equipment. Both are considered a total loss. A trampoline in a nearby vacant lot was also set on fire. Police were able to identify two male juvenile suspects. Charges are pending.

ALTOONA, IA (IRN) – A garage fire in Altoona quickly spread to a house, destroying it Saturday afternoon. No one was home at the time. Two cats are missing.
